The new Intesa Sanpaolo bank headquarters, between Corso Inghilterra and Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Turin, is a skyscraper designed by Renzo Piano Paris. The massive yet lightly transparent building stands out against Turin’s new skyline. As in a machine, every piece performs a functional and efficient role in combining to form the whole.
Relating to this theme is the interior operation which defines the design and planning of its furniture. In particular, the offices are equipped with large tables that blend into the architectural machine. The 4-6 workstation desks are supported by a single central leg. The worktop is thus suspended as if floating in space. The use of simple and technical materials like (never painted) steel and wood makes the atmosphere feel distinctly essential and contemporary.
