Made out of a renovated tailor’s workshop located in the basement of a 1960s Milan building, the Caveau is equipped both for “Produzione Privata” storage and as a versatile gallery for events and photographic sets. The restoration frees the premises from the neon lights and infills that had previously served to hide tubes and systems. Floor-to-ceiling curtains run along the walls to create backdrops that conceal the ducts or to frame windows and pedestals. The parquet is in untreated oak and the shelves are in wood, as is the wall delimiting a small office within the nicely balanced environment. The bare tubes are either emphasized or disguised, in a dark grey shade toned with that of the ceiling.
