The Volkonka Mansion, close to the Pushkin Museum in central Moscow, is a historic building of great history and architectural standing. The project by aMDL seeks rediscover its past creating a new splendor as an international destination and Luxury Art Hotel. The project removes the various additions which were added over time to add a new wing that completes the perimeter of the central courtyard. The court includes an Italian garden which is embraced by an overlooking transparent loggia that also creates a continuous link between the public aspects of the hotel including lounges and bistro.
Great attention has been given to the design of the guest rooms not only in terms of comfort but also for the integration of ‘art works’ both as a physical and digital expression that creates a unique setting for each room.
