The work on the Palladian Last Supper room consists in the superimposition of a new floor on the existing one and in the addition of a wall boiserie. These in fact do not damage the existing structures, but augment the flexible uses of the former Benedictine refectory and renew its image. The boiserie is detached from the brickwork and remains below the level of the windows and of the painting, thereby providing technical housings along the outer walls in which to instal new heating and conditioning systems.
The overhead lighting, above the Palladian cornice, illuminates the floor and Veronese’s painting Le Nozze di Cana.
